This position is responsible for (a) closing assigned portfolio consisting of a variety of products where Real Property is taken as collateral (b) independent management of all pre-closing requirements and analytical review of due diligence; including adherence to internal compliance procedures, credit approval, risk management and documentation standards according to internal closing procedures and controls; (c) providing superior client service in proactively driving the closing process, engaging legal counsel, if applicable, and third party vendors, coordinating loan document generation in LaserPro, following progress on the closing checklist, identifying items/conditions to be satisfied and the party responsible, through funding and all post-closing functions; and (d) participate in special projects as needed.



Essential job functions:



•Provides closing expertise and sets expectations with Sales in pre-closing process through analytical review of items required to close, review of term sheet/credit approval and assistance with preparation and review of commitment letter, if applicable, and review of loan documentation

•Drives closing process with client, utilizing closing checklist to identify and monitor progress of items required to close and responsible parties for such

•Engages and coordinates outside counsel as required, acting as primary bank contact

•Orders the appropriate appraisal based on review of the loan structure and collateral property through the correct technical system, complying with all regulations

• Reviews the environmental reports, orders necessary secondary review as necessary



•Responsible for ordering correct title policy or review; facilizing closing with escrow agent as prescribed by credit policy; ensuring banks collateral position is perfected

•Provides insurance agents with Banks’ coverage requirements, reviews submitted forms for compliance. Partner with corporate insurance for special properties

•Obtains and reviews all applicable loan documentation and other information for conformity to credit policy, credit approval, and commitment letter; analyzes, reviews client-requested changes with or Sales as appropriate



•Orders flood zone determinations and provides assurance of all federal regulated requirements are met for SFHA collateral, including movements in and out of a SFHA



•Ensures regular and timely ongoing communication with client, Sales, legal counsel, title agent, consultants, Servicing Officer and all other necessary parties during pre-closing and closing process

•Works with Sales team, consultants and Client Services to ensure project budget is balanced and •Delivers distinctive personalized service to external and internal clients; participates in client meetings as needed

•Utilizes nCino as appropriate for transaction tracking, ensuring correct and timely reporting

•Validates data entries and completes required information systemically, for document request, record keeping, booking and reporting in a timely fashion

•Ensures all pre-closing conditions of approval are met,

•Provides appropriate authorization to close; works closely with multiple parties to achieve a well-coordinated and timely closing, funding and booking of the transaction, clearly communicating expectations

•Identifies all fees and charges necessary to close transaction

•Monitors all applicable post-closing items

•Clearly and immediately communicates problems/issues and elevates appropriately; accountable for resolving issues affecting client service and risk management

•Adheres to timeframes for all required training







Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory• 4-year College Degree or equivalent commercial real estate business experience • Paralegal training or law degree preferred • Experience with closing process and real estate loan financing including commitment/loan structures, title/liens, insurance, loan documents, contracts, leases, and other legal documentation and compliance with governmental legal requirements. • Strong solution-oriented and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented • Demonstrated decision-making ability • Strong aptitude for analysis • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, using appropriate, audience based language • Planning and organizational skills • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment • Familiarity with commercial banking products and systems preferred • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
