Services Order Dispatcher on the Fort. Jackson team come from all areas of Columbia. Primary responsibility of the Service Order Dispatcher is to receive, record, and distribute work orders to service crews upon customers' requests for repairs and maintenance. The ideal EMI Service Order Dispatcher is highly responsible, detail-oriented, and proficient in the utilization of Maximo (an online government database program).


Salary

$16.20 / hr. plus $4.23 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

  • Record information, such as name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered
    • Distinguish tickets in the query and assign them to the correct department
  • Prepare work orders and distributes to service crew
  • Schedule service calls and dispatch service crew
    • Schedule and dispatch all preventative and cyclic maintenance work orders
  • Relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments using a two-way radio
  • Inputs technicians time and notes in the ticket
    • Close out tickets putting in completed status with detailed notes for documentation
    • Keep record of service calls and work orders
  • Issue and sign out keys for Active Duty Military personnel and other Government Officials
    • Maintain a key log
    • Sign and issue building turnovers to new barracks and other Government building recently re-keyed
  • Communicate regularly with Public Safety, EMS Personnel, Fire Department, Public Works and other agencies to assist mechanics with gaining access to buildings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Essential Skills

  • Knowledgeable in current office equipment and standard business computer programs
    • proficient in Maximo
    • operate standard office equipment such as computers, typewriters, and copiers
  • Knowledge of dispatching methods, techniques, and practices
  • Knowledge of building maintenance needs and service requirements
    • practices, methods, materials, and equipment of the building trades
  • Adaptable and flexible in work situations
  • Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies
    • Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years in a related administrative position or formal vocational/technical training in office work
  • Valid drivers license
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installation



Physical Requirements

  • Carrying objects/boxes/print-outs short distances
  • Extensive work with a personal computer
  • May require lifting and moving as much as 25 pounds with assistance
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
