Position Description

Position: Service Technician
Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Work Location: 125 - 618 SE Kent Ave Vancouver BC V5X 0B1and various locations in lower mainland, BC.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $30.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage electronic equipment used in households and businesses, such as security systems, telecommunications devices, and computer networks.
• Inspect and test low voltage electronic equipment, components, and assemblies using specialized tools like multimeters, circuit testers, and oscilloscopes.
• Diagnose and pinpoint faults in circuits, components, and equipment related to low voltage systems.
• Adjust, align, replace, or repair low voltage electronic equipment, assemblies, and components based on equipment manuals and schematics, utilizing soldering tools and other hand and power tools as necessary.
• Test and adjust repaired products to ensure they operate properly by systematically evaluating each component and circuit.
• Document completed tasks, including work orders, test results, and maintenance reports, ensuring accurate records of all activities.
• Provide guidance and supervision to other technicians working on low voltage electronic equipment, ensuring quality and adherence to safety protocols.
• Prepare cost estimates as necessary by assessing the extent of repairs needed, the cost of replacement parts, and the labor required for the job.
• Perform other duties including providing customer service, troubleshooting additional problems, and assisting colleagues in the repair process.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Relevant education or a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Capability and willingness to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
