About the Role

The Shift Manager Beverage will have primary responsibility for management of Casino Beverage staff on an assigned shift.

Position Responsibilities

  • Trains and evaluates team members
  • Ensures accurate recordkeeping at all times
  • Interviews applicants according to established personnel policies and procedures.
  • Implements and adheres to all beverage cost control procedures
  • Ensures preparation of all drinks and cocktails according to recipes
  • Keeps beverage Department costs at acceptable levels.
  • Recommends specialty drink recipes and other merchandising concepts
  • Adheres to established food and beverage policies, labor relations, liquor laws and Health Department sanitary codes
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Department

Essential Functions

  • Monitor actions of staff and customers to ensure that health and safety standards and liquor regulations (where applicable) are followed in adherence to state and local guidelines.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services (as needed)
  • Maintain opening and closing procedures and security standards.
  • Must be able to read fine print areas of invoices and contracts
  • Must be able lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours

Requirements

  • One to three years prior supervisory experience in a high volume outlet/restaurant is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Reliable with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
