We are looking to hire an experienced and enthusiastic candidate for our Shipping Supervisor position! The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Day-to-day supervision of the Shipping and Receiving department. This includes staff direction, performance reviews, discipline, hours and PTO approval, and overtime management.
  • Determine and develop training needs within department. Train appropriate personnel on forklift, transportation, and material handling.
  • Compare and negotiate freight rates. Communicate to customers and Our Project Coordinators.
  • Coordinate transportation for finished jobs using cost effective and timely delivery methods consistent with customer requirements.
  • Assure all material in production area is neatly organized and placed in its proper location.
  • Issue, track, and assign transportation purchase orders to the appropriate jobs with appropriate mark-ups for accurate billing of all transportation.
  • Manage incoming purchases with accurate matching of packing slips, purchase orders, and entry into the Pace system.
  • Manage outgoing samples, tooling, and other non-materials being shipped.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate closing of jobs and delivery of the ticket to billing.
  • Develop and implement procedures to receive and ship customer materials.
  • Responsible for all equipment assigned to the department, coordinate repairs and maintenance, and request capital expenditures to meet current and future needs.
  • Manage recyclables and waste program.
  • Responsible for timely check in, unpacking, locating, and appropriate notifications of production materials arriving.
  • Operate forklift and pallet moving equipment in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • High School Education or GED required
  • Minimum of three years' experience in Warehousing or Receiving
  • Experience working with trucking industry
  • Minimum of two years Supervisory experience
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of MRP systems
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and creativity in options for getting products to customers when they are needed
  • Ability to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems or discrepancies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand, lift, and bend off and on for 8 hours a day.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds repetitively.
