As part of our Operations team, the Shuttle Dispatcher monitors and oversees day to day vehicle operations using our high-tech dispatch center located at our bus yard in SODO, Seattle. The Dispatcher monitors all in service TransWest vehicles, ensuring they are on time and on route.

With an ability to problem solve and act quickly, the Shuttle Dispatcher will create solutions in the moment and be the point of contact for Drivers, Driver Supervisors and Location Managers via phone, push to talk and email communications regarding issues, shuttle delays, rerouting, accidents, late departures and more to ensure operations are kept on track to meet our service requirements. Using GPS software, online tracking and reporting tools, additional responsibilities include monitoring driver check ins and check outs, driver and vehicle assignments, performance reporting, on time reporting, the creation of push notifications to clients and riders, responding to rider questions via phone and email and more related to our service success.

Schedule for this opportunity is Wednesday-Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm in SODO (Seattle)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor vehicles and routes on our dispatch monitors and quickly react to changes and issues.
  • Check Drivers in by reviewing Driver credentials (MECs and Drivers Licensees).
  • Ensure dispatch programs are accurate including vehicle, driver and route assignments. Update and/or create new assignments as needed.
  • Monitor telematics data pertaining to driver check-ins and check-outs (pre-& post trips), geo-fencing and vehicle registration.
  • Proactively communicate to clients as needed via push notifications, emails and phone calls.
  • Communicate to Driver Supervisors, Location Managers and Program Managers on delays, driver, vehicle issues, late checks ins, late routes and other information critical to service success.
  • Monitor client email inboxes and reply to emails as needed.
  • Assist with lost and found items.
  • Be the point of contact to answer dispatch phones pertaining to shuttle inquires or potential issues.
  • Ensure all tablets are returned and charged for the next shift.
  • Create and monitor on-time performance and recommend route changes to improve service.
  • Create and pull reports from dispatch software that helps measure our success.
  • Tracks key (vehicle keys) movement to ensure all keys are returned at the end of shift in preparation for next shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous dispatch experience required.
  • Experience with dispatch software a plus.
  • Detail-oriented w/strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Prioritization while multi-tasking under pressure and within short time constraints.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Able to work independently and professionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to business needs.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with using touch-screen tablets and be comfortable with various technology solutions.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work.
  • Previous experience dispatching Seattle area a plus

Benefits

-Starting Pay of $23 an hour (additional $1 an hour overnight premium for hours worked between 10pm and 4am)
