Position Summary

The part-time Simulation Nurse Educator will implement simulation learning experiences on an as-needed basis. The position reports to the Director of Simulation Education. The schedule varies but is primarily 20-29 hours per week and could include Saturdays.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of use, operation, and programming of different simulation technologies-including anatomic models, equipment, task trainers, and high-fidelity mannequins or simulation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, development, and integration of simulation and lab activities into undergraduate and graduate curricula.
  • Act as an expert resource to faculty in simulation design, development, implementation, and evaluation using theory and evidence-based methods.
  • Mentor and coach faculty conducting simulation or lab activity to provide feedback and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Assist in the validation of simulation scenarios, environment, and equipment for realism and appropriateness to meet stated objectives.
  • Conduct a needs assessment that support and promote simulation use across programs.
  • Deliver presentations/workshops regarding all aspects of simulation for staff and faculty development.
  • Assist in the coordination and conduction of training with current simulation staff; federal work study students, student workers, lab assistants; and standardized patients.
  • Other administrative and duties as assigned by the DSE.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Eligible for or hold IL unencumbered RN license.
  • Have good attention to detail and excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Be customer friendly and hospitable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Committed to and an articulate supporter of the universitys mission, identity, and Christian faith commitment.
  • Personal commitment to North Parks mission of Christian higher education.


Preferred

  • Simulation education experience.
  • RN nursing education experience.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulations Educator Certification (CHSE).
  • Ability to work independently and with others and to be proactive.
  • Have experience with Enterprise Resource and Customer Resource Systems (ERP/CRM).
  • Comfortable with using new technology.
