Job Role- Site Environmental Leader Job Location-Iowa City, IA Job Description: The role of a Site Environmental Leader includes essentially the following: Understanding the P&G requirements as well as the legal framework for the systems they are responsible for at the site. Determining laws and regulations applicability to the site and interpreting the impact on site operations. Continually assessing compliance and leading resolution of outages. Understanding the fundamentals of pollution control equipment applicable to the site (i.e. wastewater treatment facility, RTO, baghouses). Assessing waste streams and characterizing per RCRA and/or other applicable regulation Preparing and submitting required reports to various agencies Setting goals and tracking performance against the goals. Communicating results to site and regional leadership. 2) the role of the On Site Contractor & Visitor (OSCV) system owner includes: Ensuring appropriate pre-selection processes are in place and used for all contractors. Perform site OSCV DDS, focusing on High Risk Tasks Ensuring compliance with health-related laws and regulations (Legal or P&G). Ensuring that systems are in place to assure zero incidents and minimize work-related risks and illnesses. Ensuring the contractor has a hazard identification and elimination system for defects and behaviors. Ensuring the contractor executes risk assessments of work and implements countermeasures to eliminate risk. 3) The role of the Individual System Owner (ISO) includes (among other things) Understand the individual system and its requirements, laws and regulations, and output. Define an individual system in a proper system format. Teach systems to others. Manage and adjust the system to the site-specific needs. Track performance of the system. For system specific role-descriptions for the ISO, pls.refer to the "Roles and Responsibilities Map" per system (available on the HS&E Knowledge-System), or get in contact with the global competency owner of the individual system in case of questions. Other HSE Duties: Assist in training new hires. SafeStart Trainer HSE Pillar Member Participate in Change Management Routinely attend and support department safety meetings Assist other HSE team members as needed Provide HSE support to the site to achieve CBN. Maintain all necessary skills. Other duties as required. Desired Skills Initiative, self-direction with decision making and problem solving skills Organizational skills and action planning Site Environmental Leader Previous HS&E/OSHA experience Experience in Key Element Audit or participation Expert on the Job Training (EOJT) Job Aid approval SAP Maintenance Planning and execution PM07's Knowledgeable of SDS's and other chemical exposure guidelines Microsoft Suite Knowledge of corporate and regulatory compliance systems Ability to correctly interpret P&ID diagrams Priority setting Good communication skills Leadership. Ability to work with and coach at all levels including leadership Ability to understand and analyze data. Penetration of details. Organizing information. Technical skills engineering fundamentals, e.g., reading and interpreting engineering drawings and flowcharts, interpreting data tables, technical troubleshooting; basic computer skills use of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Math fundamentals: be capable of basic mathematics operations, e.g., averages, means, percentages, solving simple algebraic equations and converting units for environmental equations. Science fundamentals: basic chemistry understanding, acids, bases, pH, organic and inorganic chemistry, simple reactions. Ability to read and understand, communicate with basic English. Physical Requirements: Meet essential functions of the role Hot/Cold environments Must be able to go up/down stairs unassisted
