POSITION SUMMARY

The Site Monitor is responsible for assisting the Program Manager or their designate with coordinating and overseeing the Summer Food Service Program and/or Child & Adult Care Food Program operations. They will conduct visits to meal program sites to monitor and document operational details to ensure full compliance with program guidelines; supervise and retrain site staff, as needed; and conduct follow up visits to ensure any corrective actions have been fully implemented.

The Site Monitor is responsible for assisting the Program Manager in coordinating compliance requirements for afterschool and summer meals programs. The Site Monitor will conduct visits to afterschool and summer program locations which are partnered with CitySquare; during visits, they will complete forms to document compliance or non-compliance with meal program requirements. They will provide feedback and assistance to meal service staff to ensure staff serve meals in compliance with requirements; train or re-train meal service staff as needed; and submit all documentation to the Program Manager. The Site Monitor will assist CitySquare and meal service staff with paper and electronic meal counting documentation, including but not limited to data entry, scanning, filing, and setting up and troubleshooting electronic meal count software.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: One (1) year experience in a business setting, non-profit/government setting preferred.

Additional Requirements: Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have drivers license and reliable transportation. Must be available 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. (20 hours per week) on weekdays during the school year (September to May). Must be available 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (40 hours per week) on weekdays during the summer (June to August).

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

This section describes the primary responsibilities of an individual in this position. Please note that he primary responsibilities of this position are not limited to this list.

1. Based on feedback from Program Manager, schedule monitoring visits.

2. Conduct required site visits for all Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and/ or Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sites in compliance with Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) contract agreement.

3. As needed and in coordination with Program Manager, review and determine appropriate corrective action to bring participants in compliance with TDA program guidelines and communicate appropriately with site staff.

4. Assist with retraining site supervisors, as needed.

5. Provide required documentation and/or reports of site visits, corrective actions, and any issues

regarding the SFSP/CACFP program and/or sites to the Program Manager in a timely and accurate

manner.

6. Verify contact information and/or any site information and communicate any necessary changes with

Program Manager to ensure office and TDA records are updated.

7. Conduct follow-up monitoring to ensure corrective action has been fully implemented.

8. Assist with addressing program questions or issues, as needed. Communicate any open questions or

issues with Program Manager.

9. Distribute program supplies and forms to meal sites, as needed.

10. Attend required site monitor training and site supervisor training.

11. Assist with other program administration including but not limited to meal tracking, meal ordering,

preparing training material, and filing.

12. Maintain and model a high level of service quality at all times to ensure efficient and effective

performance.

1. Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

2. Ability to sit for long periods, up to 8 hours.

3. Ability to use both hands in fine and gross manipulation of small tools (copier, computer, telephone).

4. Ability to push and pull up to 10 lbs. (File cabinet drawers, computer paper boxes).

5. Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material.

6. Ability to hear and speak well enough to communicate via phone.

7. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds dead weight to move or transfer boxes or documents.

8. Ability to retrieve files from bottom shelves/drawers and reach up for items located on top shelves.

9. Ability to reach, turn and twist above and below the waist daily to retrieve files or supplies.

10. Ability to stand and walk daily to retrieve forms/supplies for other departments.

11. Ability to spend 50% of working time outside in temperature varying from -0oF to 110oF.

12. Ability to spend 50% working time in environment of continuous moderate voices and office machine

noise typical for business office atmosphere.

13. Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.
