Responsible for assisting in the maintenance and safe operation of the Middlebury College Snowbowl Ski Lifts. Works with other mechanics in maintaining and repairing Snowbowl and Rikert Outdoor Center equipment. Assists in other areas as necessary.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $19.19 - $24.88 per hour.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Performs repairs and maintenance on ski lifts and related infrastructure ensuring that they are up to, or above, regulatory requirements and safe operation standards in time for the operating timeline requirements
  • Repairs and maintains snowmaking pumps, compressors, and associated snowmaking equipment
  • Performing repairs and maintenance to ensure safe and proper operation of Snowbowl and Rikert Outdoor Center vehicle fleet
  • Plans and develops with Lead Lift Maintenance Manager the lift maintenance and replacement schedule and other major mechanical items impacting the budget.
  • Maintains maintenance log books on lifts, vehicles, and other equipment.
  • Responsible for helping order and inventory parts and supplies for all lift maintenance department needs and other maintenance needs as required.
  • Assists in training of lift operators.

Requirements

Position Prerequisites:

  • Welder certification and Journeyman Electricians license or equivalent required.
  • Must be experienced in all areas of maintenance including vehicles, electrical, and welding.
  • 5 years previous experience or equivalent in ski area lift maintenance.


Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift 50lbs. and work in inclement weather environments. Job requires standing for extended periods of time.
