JOB SUMMARY Receive hands-on experience working with a growing 501c3 organization focused on providing opportunities for education, economic mobility, and community development. The internship will be in person at SoLas Technology and Entrepreneurship Center housed inside of the Beehive in the heart of South LA and will entail of two main components - providing support with our Technology and Entrepreneurship summer camp for youth (ages 6-14) and going through a weekly rotational series to learn about the following aspects of working with a non-profit organization: - Senior management
- Strategic partnerships / community engagement
- Program development and management
- Marketing and social media
- Fundraising
- Finance and accounting
ABOUT THE COMPANY The SoLa I CAN Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit affiliate of SoLa Impact, works to improve the lives of South LA residents and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty by providing opportunities for education, economic mobility, & community development. SoLa provides the community with skills-based technology programming, as well as scholarships and career development opportunities for underinvested communities to ensure Black and brown Angelenos get increased access to jobs, mentorship, and placement in the most competitive fields of businesses. Our pillars of change are: Career development & entrepreneurship | Education & tech innovation | Financial literacy & economic mobility | College Readiness and Scholarships Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Provide support with our Tech & Entrepreneurship summer camp
- Weekly rotational meetings with different staff to learn about their particular roles and provide support in the designated projects they are working on
- 18-20 weekly hours working in person at the SoLa Beehive
REQUIREMENTS - Must be a SoLa Scholar currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
- Have a sincere level of interest in working in the non-profit sector and community programming
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats with a No task is too small, attitude;
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment;
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment;
- Organized, proactive/self-starter, creative, detail-oriented, and critical thinking skills;
