We are looking to fill a Senior-Level Software Acquisition Professional to provide onsite support to our US Navy combat aircraft and associated mission, weapons and combat systems at Pax River, MD. In this role, you'll seek to advance the ability of the software acquisition workforce by effectively and efficiently delivering complex software-dependent capabilities through enhanced technical competencies, improvements to training and development, and mentorship and management to the software acquisition department. We are looking for a Senior Acquisition Professional to perform acquisition activities in designing, constructing, testing, and deploying aircraft mission system software. Be part of the team that keeps the Navy flying.

Specifically, the successful candidate will help guide the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) program in execution of acquisition and sustainment activities for software builds associated with the P-8A Tactical Open Mission System (TOMS) and related support systems. The successful candidate will also be knowledgeable and experienced in TacMobile software integration and deployment. In this role, the Senior Software Acquisition Professional will manage multiple software baselines across different capability packages and ensure continuity and operability of fleet assets.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work on-site at Pax River, MD.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with P-8 systems acquisition.
  • 5+ years of experience managing software development lifecycle.
  • Expertise with NAVAIR Engineering Policies and Processes.
  • Expertise in management of NAVAIR SETR Process.
  • Expertise in NAVAIR Risk Management Process.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years of experience in the MPRA community.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Gather early non-functional requirements.
  • Evaluate function requirements.
  • Select technology stack and deployment methods.
  • Estimate development time.
  • Design high-level architectural solutions.
  • Monitor software related projects and track program/project statuses.
  • Applies analytic techniques in the evaluation of program/project objectives.
  • Analyze requirements, status, budget, and schedules.
  • Perform management, technical, or business case analyses.
  • Collect, complete, organize and interpret data relating to aircraft project acquisition and product programs.

Candidate Differentiators:

  • Test and Evaluation experience highly desired.
  • Prior experience in the Navy MPRA community.
  • Prior experience in PAXSIL or other related integration environment.
  • Experience with P-8 fleet and/or PMA-290 software management.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually.
