About the Role We are seeking a part time Software Engineer for the largest US Department of Energy science and energy laboratory. Major Duties/Responsibilities: - Write software to support the research goals of our sponsors.
- Conduct common data analysis tasks such as data cleaning, exploratory analysis, model generation, and visualizing results so that they can be communicated to a lay audience.
- Read academic papers in order to understand the methods described and translate them into computer code, modifying as necessary for the application at hand.

Requirements - Familiar with python and C programming languages
- Experience using machine learning libraries and frameworks, such as keras and scikit-learn
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a computer science related field at an accredited university
- US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications: - Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
