The South Central Regional Director oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of WRTP|BIG STEP programming, including planning, organizing, and leading program strategy. This position is responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program. They will define and cultivate a culture of excellent program delivery that fosters pathways to career attainment. A successful Regional Program Director must have a broad knowledge of program management principles. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop their staff. Excellent interpersonal skills that drive productive partner relationships. They must be a data driven decision maker; able to collect, share and interpret metrics on all initiatives. They must be a coach and mentor, empowering teams to learn and perform at their highest potential while embracing diversity in thinking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Model Implementation

  • Plan the delivery of the overall model and associated programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
  • Create new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcomes of programs
  • Collaborate with the COO, an annual budget and operating plan to support programming
  • Conduct an annual audit to ensure the program operates within the approved budget
  • Report evaluation findings along with recommendations to the COO to enhance the program
  • Implement program evaluation frameworks to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop funding proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of service

Organization and Delivery

  • Initiate, plan and set goals for programs, start to finish, including processes, milestones and deadlines
  • Ensure program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Utilize forms and records to document program activities
  • Monitor performance outcomes of programs, grant and contracts and make adjustments to the delivery model as necessary to achieve goals

Supervise and Lead

  • Establish and implement a goal-setting process for program staff
  • Coach and mentor staff team to create high performance
  • Provide proper training for new team members
  • Enhance the efficiency and productivity of staff by discovering ways to improve procedures and practices

Expected Outcomes of Role

  • Ensure a clear programmatic strategy exists for the South Central Region
  • Programmatic and industry relation strategy is understood and endorsed by executive leadership, customers and team members
  • Collaborate with all Regional Program Directors to maintain a well-balanced program portfolio and roadmap exists that drives goals and outcomes
  • Work closely, as appropriate, with TRIADA staff
  • Make appropriate referrals to governmental, contractual and/or community-based organizations and follow-through to ensure holistic program delivery
  • Activity portfolio can be clearly linked to mission and outcomes for both industry and individuals
  • The organization is successful in taking its programs to market in a timely and scalable manner.
  • Programs and relationships differentiate the organization in the marketplace, provide unique value to customers and help build long-term relationships with management and labor leaders
  • The organization is seen as innovative, visionary and a leader internally and by customers, industry groups and media

Requirements

  • Associate's degree, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
  • Experience in a related field such as the building and construction trades
  • Strength in managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
  • Thorough knowledge of standard computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Flexible scheduling as needed
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the organizations mission
  • This position requires the ability to regularly sit and write at a computer, stand and lift less than 20 pounds to stock office supplies and transport branding materials to events and functions, frequently move from room to room to accommodate guests, use of phone and computer to generate input and output, reliable transportation, and a valid WI driver's license and car insurance for frequent local travel
