Micross Components has an immediate opening for a Sr Quality Engineer. This position is the site lead for Quality. Micross Shirleys current AS9100 certification is applicable to design, manufacturing and testing of RF and Microwave electronic components for Defense and Aerospace applications.
As a key member of the management team, the Sr Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing our operation to verify compliance to our established Quality Management System, as well as ensuring all regulatory/legal and customer expectations are fully understood and meet. The Sr Quality Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering with exceptional team orientation. The candidate will also have strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become a key member of our Product Realization process. Understanding customer needs and requirements to develop an effective quality control process. Ensuring the awareness of customer requirements are understood and communicated throughout the organization.
- Ensure that the processes needed to bring the Quality Management System into compliance with quality system requirements are established, implemented and maintained.
- Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization by bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate, and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.
- Oversee product manufacturing and the inspection of final product to ensure the product meets compliance to regulatory/legal standards and customers expectation and prevent escapes.
- Ensure that appropriate statistical techniques are implemented and applied at strategic points within the QMS to drive process control.
- Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct periodic management reviews including reporting to top management on the performance of the QMS with recommendations.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in an applied science or engineering field is preferred.
- 5 years prior experience minimum in Quality Assurance for product manufacturing.
- Experience in quality management systems; direct experience with AS9100 preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with customers, contract manufacturers, suppliers, QMS auditors, and distributors.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills related to identifying and verifying root cause as well as developing corrective actions is required.
- Experience with Quality Assurance tools such as fishbone diagrams, control charts, histograms, pareto charts, and FMEA are strongly preferred.
