Description:

Stationary Fuel Cell Technician roles & responsibilities include:

1. Stationary test apparatus instrumentation w/proprietary and off-the-shelf data acquisition equipment.

2. Data acquisition & compilation including system data, performance data, etc.

3. Participate in and support stationary testing including test cell configuration, maintenance, installation / removal of test parts, etc.

4. Parts/consumables ordering including inventory management.

5. Troubleshoot & repair mechanical (when necessary) & electrical systems (primary focus) which includes off-site (at customer - field) sites.

6. Perform routine maintenance where necessary of test units, test equipment, associated peripheral equipment, etc.

7. Take part in and support development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) prior to commencing work.

8. Issue daily, weekly and/or periodic general and technical reports where necessary.

Some overtime (average: 1-hour per day) and travel (~30%) is expected.

  • Requirements:

    Position Requirements

    1. Minimum 4-Years of experience as a Power Plant Technician, Generator Technician or experience from a transferable industry.

    a. Experienced utilizing instrumentation & controls for generators, compressors, motors, etc.

    b. Experience in troubleshooting generators and/or various equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, PLC's, etc.

    2. Ideal candidate would have knowledge & experience in inspecting, testing, diagnosis & repair of natural gas, electric-diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, etc.

    3. High voltage and low voltage experience is a must.

    4. High voltage certification (1000V AC / DC) is a plus.

    6. Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams (for systems and instrumentation).

    7. Experience in commissioning new equipment such as generators.

    8. Meet or exceed the following criteria:

    a. Good driving record no accidents & no traffic violations within the last 3-years.

    9. Proficient w/Windows, email, MS Word, Excel (agency to submit results of a computer aptitude test demonstrating experience level).

    10. Excellent communication & organizational skills.

    11. Experience driving an M/T vehicle is a plus.

    12. Strong understanding & working level knowledge of commercial / industrial electrical systems. Vehicle electrical system diagnosis & repair is plus.

    13. Works well independently - without direct supervision.

    14. Capable of adapting to a continuously changing work environment including at remote test locations or customer sites.

    15. Fabrication experience (i.e., machine shop, welding (MIG & TIG), etc.).
