Nations Best Holdings, LLC is seeking experienced candidates for an A Store Manager position at Sparr Building and Farm Supply, in our Sparr, Florida location. The Store Manager reports to the Sparr General Manager.

What Does a Store Manager Do?

The Store Manager is responsible for managing the tactical operations of his or her respective store a through improvement of store sales, profitability, control of inventory, proper merchandising, protection of store assets, the management of staff, implementation of best practices, and modeling of exceptional customer service.

  • Supervises operation of store and yard (if applicable), including opening, closing, shift changes, task delegation and scheduling of staff members, in accordance with all applicable state and local laws.
  • Greets customers and offers assistance with products and services.
  • Shares exceptional customer service best practices with all store staff while also modeling Nations Best values.
  • Resolves customer complaints and concerns.
  • Supervises control of store money including register counts, bank withdraws/deposits, petty cash audits, and change orders. Oversees all aspects of store bookkeeping including ledger, invoicing, case reports and time records.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial and asset protection data. Develop and implement plans to reduce loss and control cost.
  • Reviews KPIs daily and prepares to discuss with General Manager & Regional VP.
  • Partners with General Manager & Regional VP during annual budget process.
  • Executes sales plans/objectives set by General Manager & Regional VP to ensure achievement of sales, margin, and profitability.
  • Manages payroll and labor budget to ensure right balance of overtime hours vs. headcount increase based on projected sales volume.
  • Supervises merchandising including planning and implementing sets/resets and revisions of basic department and end-caps, display tables, and promotional spaces.
  • Supervises receiving, stocking, pricing, returning, and transferring of merchandise.
  • Manages inventory including ensuring stock accuracy, liquidating stock, and avoiding outs and overstocks.
  • Ensures compliance with all Nations Best policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Manages exterior and interior maintenance ensuring clean, neat, hazard-free, orderly store/yard condition and
  • appearance, including requesting store or system repairs.
  • Oversees vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  • Makes hiring and termination decisions, engaging Human Resources, when appropriate. Ensure effective training of new hires.
  • Monitors and evaluates customer service provided by store staff. Coaches, trains, encourages, and develops actions plans for improvement across the store.
  • Partners with General Manager & Human Resources to build individual action plans for underperforming employees.
  • Assigns daily operational responsibilities and clearly communicates expectations to staff members.
  • Manages staff performance by setting goals, clearly communicating expectations, evaluating performance, providing frequent feedback, course correcting when needed, and giving recognition. Collaborates with General Manager & Human Resources to identify high potentials and manage employee career progression.
  • Partners with Human Resources to develop a plan for Bench or High Potential Talent candidates in order to accelerate readiness for next role.
  • Addresses issues and disciplines staff members, engaging General Manager and Human Resources, as needed.
  • Collaborates with General Manager to monitor and approve team member compensation changes and promotions.
  • Communicates regularly with staff members through group meetings and one-on-one discussions. Ensures an open line of communication between management and staff.
  • Collaborates with General Manager and Human Resources to create and execute retention and engagement strategies.
  • Executes deployment plans for ERP system conversions, store resets or renovations, vendor program support, and best practice implementation.
  • Evaluates operational deficiencies, assesses training needs, and defines training priorities.
  • Executes training strategies that focus on improving behaviors and ensuring a consistent adherence to defined policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Executes operational feedback and follows performance improvement plans offered from General Manager.
  • Participates in manager meetings, financial reviews, and corporate trainings/events as requested.
  • Serves as a liaison between staff and Regional Management providing feedback, communication, and response to requests.
  • Conducts community outreach/service in within the local area.
  • Additional duties may be required, as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years retail experience, multi-store experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated results-oriented leadership with ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nations Bests values.
  • Demonstrated record of achieving performance goals and objectives.
  • Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements, and other financial data, manage budget, and control inventory.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results by leveraging resources and defining and communicating clear expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to react appropriately under pressure.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
