As a Strategic Solutions Architect, you will support government proposals and provide technical leadership in designing and developing solutions for our government clients. This role requires extensive experience architecting and deploying digital services and applications in the cloud. Those adept at balancing business needs and software development best practices in equal measure will find success working in this fast-paced role.

Reporting to the Chief Architect and partnering with our growth team, you will design solutions, advise clients, encourage open dialogue and collaboration, and contribute to developing winning proposals.

What you will do:

  • Work with the Growth Team to develop technical proposal strategies, write proposal content and participate in color reviews
  • As directed by the Chief Architect and CTO, you will support the Growth Team by leading technical portions of the capture and proposal processes
  • Translate technical requirements into a solution vision of high-level business and IT system specifications and present the best solutions to solve customer challenges, and develop a proposal with a high win probability
  • Architect compliant and compelling solutions, specifying comprehensive technical aspects of the solution, including open source and COTS software, computing infrastructure, agency integration, management and monitoring technologies, development languages and protocols, integration of new or existing tools, and more
  • Look for opportunities to Integrate new and innovative tools and processes into a larger system of solutions
  • Develop a detailed basis of estimate and financial analysis predicting competitors' pricing based on individual competitor knowledge
  • Write proposal responses that represent compelling value propositions to customers and differentiate Next Phase from competitors
  • Write articulate proposal responses and orally present such solutions with high confidence levels
  • Build and maintain relationships with key vendor partners to incorporate technology and capability

Requirements

  • Firsthand experience in technology domains Cloud-based solutions, Big Data, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Security, and Digital Application Development
  • You must possess firsthand expertise in developing and deploying cloud solutions and services that are designed to scale in the federal sector (preferably HHS/CMS)
  • A broad understanding of technology areas with direct experience in integrating technologies is required
  • An ideal candidate should be able to grasp customer use cases quickly and map new technologies to customer requirements
  • Skilled at developing and delivering technical presentations to customers on large complex deals and RFPs
  • Comfortable writing white papers to illustrate technical capabilities and use cases to potential customers
  • Experience working on highly competitive pursuits and customer pre-RFP engagement process (prefer a candidate with proven customer relationships on one or more programs)

Preferred skills:

  • Ability to communicate at various levels of management, including executives, project managers, technical personnel, and client organizations effectively
  • Experience writing and reviewing proposal responses
  • Knowledge of Federal Government contracting
  • Server hardware and technologies, including internal server architectures, processors, disk geometry and access protocols, vendor roadmaps

  • Product development and evangelization
  • Software Programming
  • Hands-on working with AGILE methodology
  • DevOps / CICD experience
  • Knowledge of Security approaches and Monitoring approaches
  • Overall understanding of Network infrastructure and configuration
  • Knowledge of Network Topology, High Availability, Backup, and disaster recovery solutions

  • Stays abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving change
  • Demonstrates the ability to proactively look for process improvement opportunities, challenge conventional practices, and adopt new methods and best practices
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to interact and lead people that directly and indirectly contribute to accomplishing a proposal effort tact and diplomacy are essential attributes

Education/Experience Level:

  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline, Masters degree desired.
  • At least 5+ years of experience defining software architecture and designs for complex software systems, and overall ten years of related experience (total ten years)
  • Experience in both agile and waterfall software engineering practices
  • Preferred: Experience supporting government customer

    • This job requires residency in Maryland or Northern Virginia and is partially remote (two days a week).
    • Unfortunately, a fully remote schedule is not available.
