Job Description
The physician will provide primary care for patients deemed to fall within the scope of practice of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Diagnoses and treats patients for disorders on a general level, without restriction to special systems or regions of the body; serves as the general practitioner to patients for general diagnostic and therapeutic medical care.
A Clinician Supervisor Physician Director will serve as the key medical administrator overseeing the clinical activities of Primary Care clinicians within the healthcare centers under their responsibility. This leader will oversee quality and utilization metrics for providers and center and act as a change agent for practicing clinicians within the healthcare centers around the areas of quality, service, people, finance and growth.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- MD or DO Degree required.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine..
- Active and unrestricted AZ medical license required.
- Good computer skills using MS Office Products (Word/Excel) and Electronic Health Records systems (Epic).
- Demonstrates flexibility and displays excellent communication skills with staff and during patient interactions.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Leadership experience
- At least 5 years of clinical experience
- SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS [note: bold skills and certification are required]
- Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical: Provides primary care for patients deemed to fall within the scope of his/her specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics).
Diagnoses and treats patients for disorders on a general level without restriction to special systems or regions of the body: serves as the general practitioner to patients for general diagnostic and therapeutic medical care.
Leadership Skills:
- Leads primary care clinician engagement within the healthcare center and accountable region
Change agent for clinicians in clinical practice to achieve triple aim of better clinical outcomes, better patient experience and enhanced affordability. Responsible for involving clinical teams to improve the individual experience of care for patients within the healthcare center and accountable region.
Ensures consistency of the practices and is accountable for quality of care/patient experience within his/her healthcare center and aligned region to align to the Evernorth Care Group care delivery model as it evolves and changes
Drives standardization and reduction of variability in workflow and across common clinical conditions. Supports efficiency and effectiveness efforts within the healthcare center and accountable region
Direct manager for aligned primary care clinicians for region.
