EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 65,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Supervisor to work full time for its Bronx Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) Program.

The Supervisor position is an exempt position paying $58,500 annually. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM. The office is located in Bronx, NY. The role reports to Program Director.

Primary Purpose of Job

The Supervisor is responsible for assessment, referral and case management of substance abusers and or mentally ill individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System into appropriate treatment programs, as well as supervision of assigned staff.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a liaison to the criminal justice system. Conduct screening and assessment interviews and arrange for clients to be placed into the appropriate program.
  2. Maintain client records, review, approve and audit records kept by Case Managers and Case Manager Aides.
  3. Supervise assigned staff in the areas of case management and assessment and assist staff in maintaining their assigned caseloads, to include all duties and responsibilities outlined in the position description.
  4. Review, prepare and present reports to the criminal justice system and funding sources.
  5. Investigate and arrange supportive services for clients.
  6. Provide clinical supervision and professional development to staff.
  7. Maintain a caseload.
  8. Customarily and regularly exercises discretionary powers.
  9. Assist in completing a Professional Development Plan (PDP) and coordinating in-service trainings.
  10. Make appropriate and timely site visits to treatment agencies as required.
  11. Escort clients to treatment facilities when needed.
  12. Conduct drug testing on clients of the Program as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  1. Bachelors Degree in social or behavioral sciences and/or CASAC required.
  2. Minimum of two years of case management experience in substance abuse, mental health and or criminal justice required, preferably with an EAC NETWORK TASC unit including supervisory experience.
  3. Must have knowledge of treatment programs and local criminal justice systems.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  5. Ability to work cooperatively with treatment and criminal justice systems.
  6. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
