EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 65,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Supervisor to work full time for its Nassau Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) Program.

The Supervisor position is an exempt position paying $58,500-65,000 annually. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM. The office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to Senior Director.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Supervisor is responsible for Court Liaison, assessment and referral of alcohol/substance addicted clients involved in Court or Family Court into appropriate treatment programs, assisting Division Director in daily operations of TASC program and supervision of assigned staff.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Act as liaison to the Criminal Justice System. Conduct screening and assessment interviews and arrange for client to be placed in appropriate program.
  2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with officials, funding agencies and community-based agencies and services for assigned programs.
  3. Assist with presentations, liaison with officials and facilitate public education activities.
  4. Maintain complete client records and folders on a weekly basis.
  5. Supervise assigned staff in areas of case management and assessment.
  6. Assist Division Director in the daily operations of the TASC program.
  7. Customarily and regularly exercises discretionary powers.
  8. Prepare and present written status reports to the Criminal Justice System regarding client's progress.
  9. Supervise data collection and generation of reports in conjunction with the Division Director.
  10. Identify and link clients to supportive services.
  11. Complete and conduct Professional Development Plan (PDP) meetings with staff.
  12. Maintain a case load of drug/alcohol abusing offenders.
  13. Perform toxicology/Breathalyzer/hair testing.
  14. Make quarterly site visits to all treatment agencies assigned to caseload.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  1. Degree in Social or Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice.
  2. Must have supervisory experience.
  3. Must have current knowledge of local treatment and criminal justice systems.
  4. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  5. Ability to work cooperatively with treatment and Criminal Justice system.
  6. Must have access to automobile and possess valid NY State Drivers license.
  7. Proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
