JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the VP Global Supply Chain, the purpose of the role is to manage and improve supplier quality performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• All US Quality Assurance initiated activities within the external supply base


• Developing and deploying performance and process metrics for the supply base, followed by identification of poor performing suppliers and implementation and delivery of improvement plans


• Work with Procurement colleagues to ensure clear quality targets are set for all suppliers and action plans in place for delivery. Participate in Supplier Business Review Meetings to lead quality performance discussions.


• Support Procurement in identification and approval of new suppliers.


• Support sites during sourcing, resourcing and new product introduction process


• Immediate problem solving if major quality issues arise


• Ensuring problem solving and root cause analysis activities with Site & Suppliers to eliminate recurrence of nonconformances.


• Manage the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers & materials, i.e., closure of audit actions and co-ordination of FAIRs requirements


• Working with Quality function to establish key common processes for assessment of suppliers and problem management


• Promoting improvements in COST of Quality and supporting cost reduction projects


• Management of REACH compliance in the supply base

SPECIALIST FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor’s Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering


• Proven experience in a quality role within Aerospace or Medical


• Extensive experience of leading supplier quality audits to; ISO9001, AS9100.


• Qualified to either ISO/AS level Internal Auditor


• Proven track record of implementing improvements using structured problem solving techniques; 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc.


• Direct involvement with supplier issues management from initiation to closure.


• Willingness to travel will be an essential part of the role.


• Sound knowledge of manufacturing and quality management systems ISO 9001 and AS9100


• Experience in problem solving tools


• Sufficiently knowledgeable in REACH regulation to manage this within the supply base


• Must be a US/Green card citizen
