Our mission of "daily fresh, daily affordable" drives our efforts to provide a superior shopping experience to our shoppers through everyday low prices and a wide selection of grocery goods. Along with our fresh grocery selection and hot foods kitchen, we also provide an excellent catering service.

We are seeking a highly qualified Supply Chain Director to join our team in Woodbridge, Ontario. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing the complexities of our daily operations' growing demands. As the Supply Chain Director, you will collaborate closely with our business partners in China to provide strategic insights into supply chain, procurement, logistics, and delivery processes.

Salary: $125,000 - $131,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent
Vacations: 15 business days (3 weeks) of paid vacation per calendar year

DUTIES
• Manage strategic planning for the negotiation, contracting and supplier B2B relationship management, and cultivate strong relationships with various business partners in China to optimize supply chain operations;
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain to prevent supply disruptions;
• Oversee daily logistics operations, including communication and negotiation with suppliers, demonstrating a proactive approach and deep understanding of import/export trading with China;
• Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards and resolve any supplier disputes by developing effective strategies and systems to manage a diverse range of perishable and non-perishable goods;
• Organize regular operations meetings and provide updates on contract negotiation, supply chain performance and risk management to internal stakeholders and senior management;
• Oversee the supply chain budget and implement cost-saving measures where possible across all areas, including negotiating long-term contracts, transportation, handling, storage, and customs clearance;
• Establish, nurture, and enhance relationships with suppliers and vendors in China to ensure a reliable and consistent sourcing channel of high-quality products;
• Ensure the final cost of purchased goods after all logistics expenses remain within the pricing matrix;
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including internal purchasing, logistics, and warehouse teams, as well as external suppliers, to identify opportunities for supply chain optimization and implement solutions;
• Enhance logistics efficiency to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products, from optimizing import routes from China to improving overall practices;
• Review the validity of claims, such as issues with supplier deliveries, damaged goods, late deliveries, or incorrect orders, and establish clear communication channels across internal teams;
• Manage the supply chain team and provide training and mentoring as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field is required;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing supply chain operations for a retail, wholesale, or distribution company with a focus on operations from a broad network of Chinese suppliers;
• Able to manage large supply chain budgets of over $4 million;
• Strong understanding of integrated procurement, supply chain and logistics management concepts and strategies;
• Excellent understanding of import/export regulations and trading practices with China;
• Extensive experience in negotiating and closing contracts with vendors and suppliers under favourable terms;
• Excellent relationship management skills, capable of retaining long-term, beneficial working rapport with critical suppliers, vendors, and business partners;
• Familiar with inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
