Support Specialist- Provide direct care for special needs adults in the community. 



Responsibilities:



Drive clients to and from 2 or more locations (ex. home > dinner > bowling > home).



Supervise all activities, keeping clients within eyesight at all times.



Encourage and foster independence, but provide verbal/physical/demonstrative supports when requested by clients, or when observed to be necessary. 



Do empower, support, teach, and engage.  Don't restrict, prevent, or lecture. 



Create an environment where the clients feel safe and free to express themselves and engage with their peers and other members of the community.



Info: 



-4-1 ratio (clients to staff) while working alongside another support specialist. 

-Trainings, background checks, drug tests, etc. are provided by and paid for by employer

-6 hours of training prior to employment

-12 hours of training yearly after employment

-Hours (Mon-Fri) 11am-3pm OR 4pm-730pm, (Sat) 11am-3pm

-Pay $15/hr to start.
