• Develops strategies for system and software implementations.
• Designs the infrastructure that is required to support those strategies.
• Acts as project lead in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware.
• Conducts capacity planning as needed.
• Leads, coordinates and participates in key process improvements as they relate to IT infrastructure and operational environment.
• Coordinates and collaborates with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of servers to meet business demands.
• Conducts research and makes recommendations regarding server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Acts as the technical knowledge expert in support of enterprise IT infrastructure resources.
• Leads and mentors members of the team.
• Serves as Tier III support for escalated server issues.
• Provides timely response to customer escalations.
• Supports application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Establishes and implements policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure systems security.
• Works with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to support software products and services.
• Processes support cases regarding infrastructure and server resource issues.
• Prioritizes and responds to cases as needed.
• Oversees the planning and implementation of system upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor supplied patches.
• Oversees the coordination and validation of disaster recovery tests for production server resources.
• Monitors and tests system performance and provides performance statistics and reports.
• Develops complex shell scripts for process automation as required.
• Manages enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
• Recommends and executes modifications to server environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
• Develops, documents, and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
• Creates required reports in response to business needs for senior management

Requirements

• Scripting and automation, preferably with Windows PowerShell.
• Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Office365, Exchange, and other Windows services.
• Network concepts and firewall administration.
• Application support.
• Web servers including Linux servers and databases.
• Virtualization performance.
• Systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Security protocols and best practices.
