Systems Administrator Location: US-PA-West Chester Email this job to a friend

We are looking for a System Administrator for a Tuesday-Saturday shift to maintain, upgrade and manage our client's software, hardware and networks. This can be a fully remote role or hybrid if you prefer and are near one of our local offices in West Chester, PA or Cherry Hill, NJ. In this position you will interact with our Helpdesk Staff and other System Administrators to resolve issues escalated from T2 Help Desk engineers or assist with Project work as needed. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. An ideal candidate will be able to quickly adopt to the ever-changing pace of MSP environment.
Responsibilities - Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Windows patch deployment for desktops and servers for clients
- PowerShell script writing for various ad-hoc tasks such as data manipulation within the Windows environment and task automation for staff or ninja environment.
- Network management of client firewalls and automation configuration tools such as BackBox
- Manage Rackspace virtual hosts
- Design, install and configure internal and customer facing servers, network devices and firewalls
- Provide T3 escalation point for Helpdesk on Servers and networking issues
- Assist project team as needed
- Proactively manage and maintain server, network and firewall systems
- Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix and VMware technologies
- Define and document best practices and support procedures
- Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend
- Carry out special tasks at Management's direction
- Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements - Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Ability to create scripts in powershell
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid Cloud experience (Private or Public)
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
