WWC Federal is seeking Systems Engineers for a potential contract within the Department of Defense (DoD).

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing server administration tasks to include user/group administration, system permissions, group policies, print service, and resource monitoring.
  • Ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Building, testing, and maintaining new servers as needed.
  • Evaluating, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting operating systems and other software applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensuring software utilized is patched and/or updated to newer versions as required and incompliance with client and DoD policy.
  • Ensuring all software is authorized and supported on client networks and systems.
  • Monitoring server and datacenter performance using a variety of enterprise monitoring tools, reviewing anomalies, resource/capacity utilization, database performance, bulletins, event logs, and alerts
  • Installing and maintaining the system monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Creating troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
  • Executing fault isolation and diagnostic functions to ensure the execution of corrective actions on a real-time basis.
  • Interacting with government service owners, network technicians, customers, service desk, etc. to resolve issues or meet new requirements.
  • Implementing, managing, and monitoring security controls using industry best practices, client policy, and DOD policy and standards.
  • Conducting and participating in network security audits.
  • Advising the government on steps to take to mitigate security threats. If threat is imminent, determining risk of waiting to apply known fixes/patches as opposed to immediate implementation.
  • Coordinating and implementing a routine server maintenance plan that includes, but is not limited to, software patching, operating system updates, and cyclical equipment reboots as required.
  • Developing and implementing server backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies, policies, and procedures by determining backup schedules and retention periods of backups, archiving backups, and determining off-site storage for backups.
  • Developing and providing a routine, cyclical plan to test and validate the strategy.
  • Responding to internal/external requests regarding IT systems/services expansion.
  • Providing input to the government about whether the request meet clients requirements.
  • Obtaining signoff from requestor and the governments change control as required and then testing, integrating, and monitoring the solution.
  • Maintaining up-to-date, accurate documentation of the enterprise server infrastructure.
  • Keeping track of the inventory and location of systems.

Multiple positions may be hired from this announcement. This position is contingent on contract award.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel:

  • 0-20% / Occasional travel.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Current, active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 4+ years of experience including one or more of the following within DoD:
  1. Installing new software releases, system upgrades, and installing patches.
  2. Performing system backups and recovery.
  3. Performing major systems design, integration, and implementation.
  4. Performing implementation of support facilities and/or equipment for personnel, hardware, software, and budgetary requirements.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. WWC Global will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
