Integrated Security Technologies, Inc. (IST) designs, installs, and services integrated electronic and physical security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, physical barriers, etc.) for government and commercial entities. Though based primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, our team members dispatch to locations throughout the nation and occasionally overseas. In business for more than 20-years, IST continues to grow while maintaining a strong culture of teamwork.

IST is searching for a Systems Engineer, preferably located in our Herndon, VA headquarters. Viable candidates from other areas may be considered for a remote position with the appropriate qualifications.

Working in the Engineering department, the Systems Engineer will interface with IST internal resources to support the essential job duties listed below. These duties will be fulfilled by interacting with the IST Business Development, Operations, and Engineering departments, as assigned, for security system implementation as well as various other support tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal resources to drive completion of projects. This position reports directly to the Systems Engineering Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers, program managers and customer stakeholders to commission and test IT and security systems.
  
• Site surveys as deemed necessary to support system commissioning and/or documentation updates.
• Bill of materials review and approval for assigned projects.
• System deployment and commissioning, as needed. Specifically, software configuration/programming and testing to align with customer provided requirements.
• System documentation and transition to the service team.

Experience

• 5-7 years technical experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intercom and Networking.
  
• Experience in security system deployment for healthcare, government, K-12 and higher education environments.
• Experience with one or more of the followings software platforms is required:
• Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, and Milestone.

Requirements

• A bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with a technical focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
• Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the security manufacturers noted above.
