Systems Programmer

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Scope:

• The client has a variety of software applications that need to be upgraded to supported versions of Microsoft Visual Studio, .Net Framework, an Adobe Flash alternative, and migration of code from Vb.net to C# (link removed) The Systems Software Programmer will be responsible for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing, and maintenance of operating systems software; possess a strong understanding of systems programming, graphical user interfaces and control languages; evaluate software packages and make recommendations to IT management; modify and debug source code, utilities and packages; modifies, installs and prepares technical documentation for system software applications.

Required Tasks to be Performed:

• The Applications Development Analyst will be responsible for the following:
• Understanding the project requirements and project goals and using that understanding to produce deliverables
• Working with Business Analyst to create and/or update project, technical, and training materials as needed.
• Actively participate in meetings or other project activities to produce project deliverables
• Communicating accomplishments to BA to produce weekly status reports that outlines accomplishments and planned activities for the following week
• Understanding the project requirements and project goals and using that understanding to produce project deliverables Communicating project progress and information to key team members.
• Assisting in the preparation of information for program leadership team, executive steering committee, and project manager as appropriate.
• Ensuring technical direction and standards for infrastructure and software applications are being followed.
• Understanding strategic direction and tactical goals, and effectively participating in the development and implementation of business solutions.
• Assisting both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines. I
• Identifying and eliminating obstacles to solution plans, business goals or implementation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of contingency plans.

• Business and technical requirements
• Technical specifications
• Process, system, data flow, and network diagrams
• Design documents
• Program or technical analyses
• Test plans
• Status Report
• Application modules developed and tested to meet project specifications

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Four (4) years of professional experience writing and maintaining SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures/packages/views using Oracle 11g or above.
• Four (4) years of professional experience writing and maintaining SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures/functions using SQL Server 2017 or above as the data store.
• Four (4) years of experience in webpage development using (link removed) .css, xml or Javascript.
• Four (4) years of experience writing, debugging, updating code in a .Net programming environment using Visual Basic or C#.
• Four (4) years of experience with project migrations and upgrades for Visual Studio and .Net Framework including converting source code from Vb.net to C#. (link removed)
