Long term acute care RN/LPN will help bridge the transition from intensive care to home for our adult patient population. Most patients will have an average stay of 26 days or longer and will require management of multiple, long-term, complex medical conditions, and multiple system failures. Deliver nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation, under general supervision, and in accordance with established practices and policy. Critical thinking skills and independence are essential in this setting. Responsibilities may include: wound care, chest tube care, tracheotomy care, IV therapy, ostomy care, and airway management. Demonstrate safe and effective use of equipment: TPN administration, foley catheters, geri chairs, specialty beds, computer/EHR, NGT/DHT, Crash cart, enteral feeding pump, etc.
