Opportunity



We are seeking an experienced Tax professional to manage multiple operations of the Tax Practice area while simultaneously delivering exceptional quality tax services that will continue to uphold and increase firm’s excellent reputation. Oversee the various functions in the Tax Department, including management, reviewing and signing all tax returns in a broad spectrum of service areas, including non-profit and for-profit sectors. This individual will have the ability to recommend operational policies to the Partner group and implement procedures as approved to ensure timely, accurate and profitable completion of work. Position also requires extensive client facing and marketing for new business for the firm. This is a permanent full-time position with paid benefits and vacation, in a well successful CPA Firm with an excellent work culture and career advancement.





Responsibilities




  • Perform detailed and technical tax review, approval and signing of all tax returns and governmental tax returns on any complexity, including in the areas of individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, sales use tax, non-profits and foundations, complex real estate transactions, trust accounting and merger & acquisitions.

  • Responsible for smooth flow of tax returns through the tax preparation system to assure accurate, complete and timely preparation and delivery of all clients’ tax and complex business returns.

  • Lead meaningful growth efforts through active involvement in the delivery of client service and the development of new clients by meeting the Firm’s metrics and profitability requirements for the Tax Department.

  • Serve as business advisor to the Firm’s clients and Partner Group while resolving complex issues simultaneously.

  • Demonstrate mastery of firm policies applicable to tax practice and applicable professional standards (e.g. Circular 230, AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, AICPA Statements on Standards for Tax Services, IRC Sections 6694 and 6662).

  • Maintain a continued emphasis on tax practice quality and risk management.

  • Analyze the drivers and metrics of existing and potential tax service areas in order to provide insight regarding tax strategy and operations.



Requirements




  • 3 - 5 years experience in taxes

  • Advance Microsoft Office skills and technical tax experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly motivated and time management skills

  • College or University education in Accounting, Payroll or Finance with a focus on Taxes
