JOB SUMMARY: Develop new tea and flavor systems and product innovations to meet market opportunities. Assist to create effective processes for manufacturing new and existing products. The position of Tea and Flavor Systems Technologist is responsible for driving success within the Amelia Bay Business Unit. This critical role will help the FFP-Taste business achieve it's financial goals by working with operations, commercial roles, and the product development organization. The role will work closely with FFP-Tastes Business Development and Sales Team to bring new concepts to key customers within the identified strategic markets.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage customer projects and act as technical support of internal initiatives including the development of diverse beverage offerings including functional beverages, alternative adult beverages, tea and botanical-based applications
  • Assists in filling sample department tea and flavor compounds
  • Formulate and prepare laboratory-scale beverages and concentrates
  • Perform material inspections/analysis of ingredients, work in progress, and finished products.
  • Maintain laboratory and sample inventory of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Assists in the preparation of shelf-life reports and documentation of trial tests.
  • Gathering product or ingredient-related information from vendors
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Develop beverage systems that showcase FFP flavors, ingredients, and technologies as integrated solution systems.
  • Project management- Manage customer briefs and champion required actions to meet the project success criteria
  • Participate in work sessions with customers at FFP and at customer locations.
  • Maintain knowledge of beverage clients strategies, brands, and products.
  • Teamwork- Work well with the varied teams within FFP.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of experience with bachelors degree in Food Science or related science.
  • 3 years CPG/Flavor industry experience working in the beverage category

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to maintain a sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time and operate computer equipment.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time while working in the lab
  • Ability to work in a production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
