Job Title: TEACHER RESOURCE SPECIALIST Job Location: Atlanta, GA Onsite & Local Needed Duration: Long Term Position Summary: -
The Teacher Resource Specialist provides support in the development and promotion of teaching and learning resources to promote teacher effectiveness and student achievement. -
Essential Duties -
Engages in graphic arts utilizing a variety of equipment and programs to create teacher and student resources. -
Collaborates with school- and district-based educators to develop instructional resources. -
Provides instruction on how to use the resources and equipment in the Teacher Resource Room. -
Keeps the district abreast of the availability and offerings of the Teacher Resource Room. -
Takes and communicates inventory to sustain the Teacher Resource Room and the ISC Professional Library. -
Ensures the Teacher Resource Room and the ISC Professional Library remains organized, operable, and stocked. -
Performs other duties as assigned by the Instructional Development and Design leadership team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
Must be able to work extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. -
Must be able to collaborate effectively with district personnel, the general public and work with diverse groups of people. -
Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate and provide leadership. -
Demonstrated ability to design and implement short and long range objectives. -
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. -
Ability to effectively lead, organize and direct the work of others. -
Strong decision-making ability and resource management skills. -
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -
Proven ability to make recommendations on various topics, detailed, controversial, simple or complex. -
Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities, work under pressure, and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines. -
Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person environments. -
Minimum Requirements Education -
An Associate's Degree or higher in any subject completed at an accredited institution OR -
Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or more) earned at an accredited college or university OR -
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and passing scores on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment Test. -
Certification/License: Georgia Professional Standards Commission Paraprofessional Certificate -
Work Experience: Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements. 2 years of experience preferred.
