The Team Lead in collaboration with the National, Assistant Site Director, and Preliminary and State Directors is responsible for making sure all teams are collaborating effectively and running smoothly and cohesively.  The Team Lead provides direction, instructions and guidance to all team members for the purpose of achieving a certain goal.  The effective Team Lead will need to be aware of all team members’ strengths, weaknesses and motivations.  The Team Lead will be responsible for supporting all Directors to recruit, train and retain volunteers and recruit contestants.  The Team Lead will also be responsible for maintaining records for all members, volunteers, and other clients as well as assisting with the organization of all departments.  The position reports directly to the National Director/CEO.  The following is a list of additional responsibilities and duties:

 



Duties and Responsibilities




  • Prepare materials and supplies for Booth Events

  • Attend company functions and networking events

  • Intake new RUP members and maintain connections with them

  • Prepare and design flyers and marketing material to promote pageant productions and other events

  •  Manage contestants (schedules & appearances), manages superheroes, manages    social media and assist Directors with needed tasks

  • Lead all employees, Directors, interns and volunteers

  • Prepare team meetings for all teams

  • Attend conferences and training

  • Prepare lesson plans for Diamond’s 360 program

  • Work alongside Directors to recruit, train, and retain volunteers and new members

  • Attend Parent Focus groups and parent meetings

  • Connect volunteers to all 14 Directors as needed – organize volunteer schedules

  • Attend booth events as assigned to recruit new members and volunteers

  • Purchase, stock and organize lesson plan and booth activity materials and supplies

  • Foster a customer/client focused working environment with clear responsibilities and expectations for team members

  • Monitor and report on progress towards achievement of plans and strategies

  • Develop and maintain collaborative key relationships with key clients



 



Communication




  • Respond to volunteer, pageant contestants, teams, and club members inquiries, complaints and requests

  • Assure that oral communication (both in person and by phone) is relayed to appropriate staff person

  • Assure requested announcements and information to be communicated to all members, etc. is followed through

  • Provide status reporting of team activities against the program plan or schedule

  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the team

  • Provide guidance to the team based on management direction

  • Program and communication activities including but not limited to meeting set up and volunteer follow-up

  • Work as a team member to maintain and keep current all files, databases and membership programs



 



Team Work/Planning/Organization




  • Develop team programs that support the organizations business strategy

  • Develop a strategy that the team will use to reach its goal

  • Provide any training that team members need

  • Communicate clear instructions to team members

  • Listen to team members’ feedback

  • Monitor team members’ participation to ensure the training they provide is being put into use, and also to see if any additional training is needed

  • Manage the flow of day to day operations

  • Create reports to update the company on team’s progress

  • Distribute reports to the appropriate personnel

  • Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort

  • Provide the team with a vision of the project objectives

  • Motivate and inspire team members

  • Maintain healthy group dynamics

  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration

  • Strive for team consensus and win-win agreements

  • Help keep the team focused and on track



Requirements and Qualifications




  • AA or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an office or team environment

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Excellent listening and organizational skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Must handle stress well in order to confront a variety of problems throughout the day

  • Must be adept at assigning responsibilities to staff and meeting deadlines

  • Must be able to motivate employees in order to increase productivity and member recruitment

  • Strong decision-making skills

  • Responsible for writing proposals, presentations, and memorandums

  • Able to interact with many different individuals in a professional environment; must be able to collaborate, interact, communicate in a team environment, create and lead teams and build successful teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision

  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
