The Camp Team Leader is responsible for the direct care and supervision of all campers and Team members, promoting and actively participating in all camp activities, providing a safe and fun learning environment, and serving as a positive role model for campers and Team members.


 

Position Objective/Purpose:



We are seeking a motivated team member who displays a record of achievement in effective supervision & management of other summer camp team members and campers.  The candidate must be capable of building positive relationships, providing top-notch customer service and ensuring the safety and well-being of people of all ages.  This position will require the candidate to complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


 

Essential Job Responsibilities:





  • Group supervision of campers with attention to: behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development




  • Complete paperwork as assigned




  • Serve as a positive role model to campers and other team members




  • Monitor the organization, supervision, and administration of all activities and assemblies




  • Conduct morning briefings daily with team




  • Conduct team member evaluations




  • Assist and support camp technology teachers in any camp operation or activity




  • Act as a substitute teacher when a technology camp teacher is away from the classroom or absent from camp




  • Coordinate daily non-classroom-based activities for campers (typically running outdoor activity to get the kids away from computer screens)




  • Coordinate the logististics of equipment for all camp programs





    • this includes interacting with delivery services on Monday (AM) and Friday (PM)




    • On days when you are coordinating equipment logistics you will need to have access to a car to bring items between classrooms and business offices






  • Attend Fleming Tech Camp events as needed (this may include trainings, classroom set up days, open houses, marketing activities and other events which might not take place during camp hours).




  • Model behavior & group management strategies for groups




  • Monitor safety and security of all campers and team members




  • Oversee daily sign-in and sign-out of campers




  • Have fun - this is a summer camp, and we want you to have a great summer experience




  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Experience Requirements:





  • Previous experience working with children in a supervisory or administrative capacity




  • Performance management and facilitation experience (preferred)




  • Staff supervision experience (required)




 

Certification Requirements (preferred):





  • Teaching certification




  • First Aid/CPR




 

Education Requirements:





  • Bachelor’s Degree




 

Other Skill Requirements:





  • Outstanding communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community




 

Reporting Relationships:





  • Reports directly to and takes direction from Fleming Tech Camps Executive Director. The director is off-site and your relationship with the director will typically be through phone and email communications.




 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:





  • Ability to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35lbs




  • Endurance to work on your feet for 6-8 hours per day




  • Ability to respond to emergency situations.




  • Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position



    You must be available from June 24 - August 23 Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
