  1. Maintain, develop and document approved code plugs for public safety agencies in the MBHSR.
    • Evaluate and identify potential for RMS usage throughout the MBHSR.
    • Verify and advise on upgrades or updates as necessary on required firmware for Motorola APX radios.
    • Manage and update database consisting of subscribers by municipality that identifies model numbers, serial numbers, and firmware, and any issues. This database shall become a working document that will form a baseline of the radio system subscribers. All changes and/or updates shall be recorded as part of this database.

  1. Inventory management of communications assets and infrastructure.
    • Initializing and updating the master inventory and database for each MBHSR community at a minimum of 1 time each month. Random subset of checks of inventory to ensure MBHSR code plugs are correct and radio is in the OEM inventory system at a minimum of once per quarter.

  1. Train (and/or refer and organize training opportunities) MBHSR public safety personnel in the following:
    • Portable subscriber unit programming;
    • Portable subscriber unit operations;
    • Train the trainer refresh of OEM inventory system as needed by the MBHSR communities.

  1. Perform regular, scheduled site visits to both police and fire agencies across the MBHSR.
    • Visits should be monthly at a minimum, with more as requested by MBHSR public safety personnel and/or as directed by the MBHSR Communications Interoperability Subcommittee.
    • Each agency will assign one personnel member to coordinate visits and sign off on requested work (e.g. code plug updates, training, equipment assessment, etc.)

  1. Assist MBHSR public safety personnel with interoperable communications strategic planning:
    • Provide product guidance and recommendations;
    • Advise, as requested, on procurement and/or policy planning.
    • Advise on technology sub-systems, backhaul and mission critical support systems.
    • Support Needs Assessment activities.

Qualifications

Candidate shall have the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Extensive experience programming Motorola Radios, to include:

APX8000 and APX7000 portables, APX85000 and APX7500 mobiles, APXconsolettes, MT1000, HT1000, HT1250, MT2000, MTS2000, XTS1500, XTS2500, XTS5000, XTS3000 portables, XTL1500, XTL2500, XTL5000, CDM Series mobiles, Pro Series portables, MTR3000 repeaters, Quantar repeaters and base stations, PDR3500 portable repeaters, Spectra Portable Repeater 2, PR-1, Command Plus consoles. Also experienced with Motorola RSS software and the peripherals and programming documentation.

  1. Residence

Candidate shall reside within 25 miles of the City of Boston.

Rate: $50 Per/Hr
