Job Description Technical Operation Manager Preferred Work Location: Our Headquarters in Foster City, CA Reports to: Marketing Automation Lead Geographical Scope: US Contract Duration: 18 months The Technical Operations Manager is responsible for designing and implementing marketing automation campaigns that drive customer engagement and conversion. This role requires hands on experience in SFMC marketing automation platform capabilities and best practices. The person must be skilled in designing and executing customer journeys and emails in SFMC platform, managing data, and tracking their performance. She/he will oversee the implementation of SFMC strategy, managing the SFMC operations and measuring and optimizing marketing automation campaign performance. In addition, she/he will also be looked to support brands in strategy development to capitalize on the full benefits of the SFMC platform's extensive capabilities. Reporting to the Marketing Automation Lead, the Technical Operations Manager will be responsible for: Key Responsibilities Design and implement effective and efficient marketing automation campaigns that align with the overall marketing strategy. Oversee the management of SFMC marketing automation platform, optimization of core capabilities and processes, creation of new capabilities and SOPs. Assist Gilead's brand marketing teams and other Digital Marketing Operation team members as they design and execute customer journeys and emails in SFMC platform. Design testing strategies for improving marketing automation campaigns' effectiveness, pilot new ideas, measure their impact, and roll-out when successful. Define and maintain email standards, email size, and HTML/CSS format. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across SFMC platform. Document campaign processes, identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of campaign production, and roll out initiatives to streamline email marketing. Monitor and minimize unsubscribe/bounce/complaint rates and ensure spam regulation compliance. Track KPIs, develop and deliver reports and dashboards, derive insights from results, and recommend enhancements. Identify opportunities for possible future A/B testing. Partner with and support the Digital Marketing Operation team as a technical advisor to the marketing technology stack. Develop and manage Digital Marketing Operations SOPs related to marketing automation. Collaborate closely with Digital Strategy and Customer Experience team. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and Four Years' Experience OR Masters' or higher Degree; and Three Years' Experience Preferred Qualifications Proven track record of designing and executing the marketing automation campaigns in SFMC platform. Experience with SFMC platform including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Content Builder, Interactions Studio, Automation Studio, and Advertising Studio. Knowledge of Mobile Studio and Einstein modules is a plus. Strong knowledge of email marketing, SMS, push notifications, and other digital channels. Experience in managing data, creating personalized content, designing complex marketing automation customer journeys, and tracking campaign performance. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improving the customer journey. Experience with A/B testing and campaign optimization techniques. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to US pharmaceutical marketing, including FDA regulations and guidelines. Direct experience running marketing automation campaigns through a US biotech/pharma regulatory review process is a plus. Experience in digital health emerging technologies, such as telehealth, wearables, and digital therapeutics is a plus. Experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is a plus. Strong project management skills. Knowledge of customer experience design, customer journey mapping, design thinking, and service design. Aptitude to manage multiple projects, expand knowledge and learn new skills and technologies to fully support SFMC Platform adoption. Effective facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize workload. Self-motivated, collaborative, responsive, organized, able to work independently with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Operational KPIs Conversion rates. Customer engagement rates. Lead generation. Return on Investment (ROI). Customer retention rates. Time to market for new marketing automation campaigns. Stakeholder satisfaction with the campaign experience through feedback and surveys.
