We are looking for a Technical Project Manager II, who can execute and optimize our Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) and support product delivery for our consumer and enterprise products. You will own a complex cross-team/cross-org project that delivers broad business impact. You will drive teams across organizations to meet project timelines and deliverables. You drive decisions about resource allocation, scope and timelines supported with team data (velocity, capacity, etc.). You will deeply understand the problems your teams are trying to solve and the impact they have on the business. From this, you consistently find the path forward and influence others (build consensus) to follow that path. You have worked closely with business and technology partners, played a crucial role in supporting customer-facing software, and have demonstrable experience building and fostering relationships with internal stakeholders.

Expectations for Success:

  • Lead 3 teams through Agile/Scrum development processes, run daily Stand Up meetings, Sprint Planning, close out the current Sprint, review the Sprint Report, discuss performance with the team, and align on Sprint Goals.
  • Review your teams backlog and unblock team members
  • Work closely with Product to align on competing priorities for Sprint Planning and ensure the backlog is properly prioritized
  • Run project status meetings to determine progress, identify roadblocks, drive their resolution or ensure a clear hand-off to the right owner and work to minimize risks
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate written communication in the form of status reports
  • Clearly define new and enhance existing standards to deliver positive business outcomes
  • Work closely with all stakeholders, plan for the upcoming Sprint Planning meeting, review priorities, sprint capacity and team velocity.
  • Meet with team members to mentor and coach on Agile best practices
  • Attend cross-team meetings and articulate any issues, changes in priority, or blockers that impact your Agile teams or projects
  • Maintain, track and report teams quarterly successes to upper management
  • Represent, verbally and written, complex decisions, trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to Managers and VPs
  • Work proactively seek solutions and independently improve existing tools-of-the-trade and leverage automations to gain efficiencies
  • Proactively define measures and metrics to track progress towards goals
  • Mentor, onboard and coach team members on Agile/Scrum processes and project management best practices
  • Manage project timeline including milestones, dependencies, risks and schedule and communicate status
  • Track interdependencies, assess project risk and work across teams to develop contingency plans
  • Own the process to gather work estimations and resource allocation
  • Conduct regular quarterly and project reviews, analyze the data, success metrics, and write concise narratives, capturing outcomes to communicate to senior management and stakeholders
  • Anticipate problems, see gaps and lead efforts to create new or improve existing PMO best practices and standards across organizations within engineering

  • 3-5 years previous software Agile, Scrum and project management experience
  • Experience with Atlassian suite of products, Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Jira Dashboards and Confluence and Google Suite products.
  • Independently owned an enterprise-level software development life cycle of a complex and ambiguous project
  • Proficiency at developing new and updating existing reports using pivot tables and data analysis skills in MS Excel or Google Sheets
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Exemplary communication skills that succinctly communicate with management on the team's progress

Salary Disclosure

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Ookla provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000 a year up to $140,000 a year.
