The Technician Helper is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Technician in performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and facilities. The required duties include minor electrical installation and repair, general handyman services, plumbing, painting, carpentry, cleaning, concrete repair, and other related work. Must be responsible, personable, have a high attention to detail and quality, excellent communication and writing skills.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
• Respond to scheduled and emergency/unscheduled repairs.
• Receive digital and written work orders and verbal instructions from manager.
• Perform thorough assessments to quote for future work.
• Assist with installation and repair of items such as: cabinets, partitions, shelves, drop ceilings, floors, doors, locks, faucets, water heaters, lighting, and related items.
• Travel to facilities throughout the region.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas and service vehicle.
• Communicate closely with the Service Manager throughout the day.
• Arrive with a presentable and professional appearance.
• Some travel to Austin, Dallas, and/or San Antonio may be required periodically for larger projects.
  

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Bilingual
• Proven experience in a hands on/mechanical background.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of materials.
• Must be familiar with a wide variety of hand/power tools and be able to adapt to the use of new tools quickly.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Must be available to work a demanding schedule including long hours, occasional overnight work, and rotating weekends on-call.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Position requires a valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must have a reliable smartphone and be proficient with the usage of various applications.
