Athens, GA Contract Duration: 12-18 months Rate: Negotiable Responsibilities: - Excellent employment opportunity for a Technician II Formulation in the Athens, GA area.
- Responsible for leading the activities associated with the preparation of media components in an aseptic clean room environment according to USDA regulations
- Ensure compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures during execution of processes.
- Ensure adherence to production schedule and complete associated documentation in compliance with regulatory requirement
- Support cross-functional activities as required
- Responsible for completing direct and indirect assigned tasks (for example, cleaning, work order escalation, laboratory setup, etc.) related to departmental functions
- Perform preventative maintenance and general upkeep on equipment and facilities including environmental monitoring
- Responsible for maintaining accurate area inventories for raw materials and supplies
- Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)
- Participate in key improvement opportunities and implementation of selected new ideas (including deviation and change control management)
- Escalate issues related to personnel, process and products to the appropriate leaders
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions to address problems
- Assist with training and coaching of current and new employees on required skills
- Demonstrate a visible & tangible commitment to HSE, Lean Principles, and the Merial Values in all work-related activities
- In addition to the above, other assigned duties & projects deemed appropriate within the position scope Knowledge and Skills.
Experience: - Required High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred: B.S. in Biology or relevant field, laboratory experience
- Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge and Skills Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Basic Math skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Demonstrated training skills
- Require knowledge of the current GMPs and USDA requirements
- Equipment/Process trouble shooting skills
- Clean room and aseptic technique knowledge
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
