Responsibilities

 


  • Knowledge of Emergency Medical Procedures

  • Ability to work well with others including your team, other city employees, and the public

  • Ability to dispatch EMS units

  • Ability to help citizens provide emergency care over the phone

  • Ability to contact outside agencies to work in coordination during an emergency

  • Ability to evaluate incoming calls to determine their nature and priority

  • Ability to perceive the full-color range

  • Basic computer knowledge


Qualifications

 

  • Associate's Degree in Communications, Business or relevant experience 

  • 2+ years of experience in emergency services dispatching in a 9-1-1 center or similar environment

  • Strong ability to resolve conflict and de-escalate tense situations

  • Ability to comfortably sit for long periods

  • Excellent attention to details

  • Strong interpersonal skills
