TRIO Educational Talent Search Cedar Rapids (ETSCR) is seeking a part-time tutor coordinator. This position will perform administrative, technical, and supervisorial duties. Tutoring will be provided virtually or in-person in a variety of academic subjects to TRIO ETSCR students in grades 9th-12th who attend Jefferson and Washington high schools in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. This position coordinates, organizes, and oversees overall tutoring activities and services; schedules and supervises tutor staff, and when necessary provide tutoring including study skills; submits sign-in sheet and verify work hours of tutors; facilitates in-person and online tutoring; sets up virtual meetings, assigns tutors and tutees to a meeting room, and trouble shoot problems; maintains and submits accurate and timely tutoring records; responsible for quarterly reports and data collection to include utilization of tutoring service, student demographics, academic level, subject area, attendance, and individual progress; assists educational counselors in monitoring the academic performance of ETSCR students using available data to identify those who are at-risk of academic difficulty and develop plans and strategies for assisting these students; helps promote tutoring services to attract new students and keep students, parents, teachers, and the school community informed; develops workshops and presentations to facilitate and enhance students' learning, including test preparation, essay writing, projects, research and other academic tasks; maintains a superior customer service attitude, and assist students, tutors, and guardians with questions regarding the tutoring service; and performs other related duties or projects as assigned to further the mission of TRIO ETSCR. Required Qualifications:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, knowledgeable, open-minded, and friendly; excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; leadership skills, critical thinking/problem solving skills and be self-motivated; ability to fully participate in all program activities; detailed-oriented and have good organizational skills; and experience with computers and software programs, such as Zoom required. Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with youth of low-income and first-generation backgrounds preferred.
