Tolls Operations Vulnerability Engineer will provide senior-level technical skills in managing and remediating vulnerabilities and patches across endpoints. This role will review desktop vulnerabilities on regular basis and develop comprehensive remediation plan. This role will coordinate response with information security on all endpoints vulnerability related topics. The engineer will ensure prompt and timely remediation of all Critical and High vulnerabilities, as well as Medium vulnerabilities as required by agency policy.
Worker will perform these Tasks:
x Review vulnerabilities as identified on regular basis.
x Remediate vulnerabilities and work/ coordinate with other team/ departments to assist with the remediation.
x Assist in the development and maintenance of new procedural documentation including refinements to existing Patch and Vulnerability Management policies.
x Monitoring, managing, and coordinating the information collection and cataloging of activities from a variety of public and private security related information sources, as well as documenting the initial analysis of vulnerability reports and how they may relate to client
x Ensure that vulnerability scans are performed on a recurring basis for every device running on the network with coordination with Information Security Team.
x Use vulnerability tools and/or Microsoft SCCM to deploy all needed patches to all devices, leveraging local IT staff as needed.
x Prepare security documentation and periodic reports.
WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS (Required) Minimum (Required): insert specific minimum skills for this Contract Position)
1-3 years exp- Experienced in patch and vulnerability management.
1-3 years exp- Operating Systems Concepts Active Directory, Security, OS Internals
1-3 years exp- Networking concepts DNS, protocols, Devices
1-3 years exp- Strong communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills; excellent customer service
Preferred (Optional): insert specific preferred skills for this Contract Position)
1-3 years exp- ITIL Change Management
1-3 years exp- Extensive knowledge and/or prior experience with standard software package and patch deployment methodologies, adhering to standard change control processes within large size corporations.
WORK HOURS AND LOCATION (Required): 8 5 TxDOT Camp Hubbard, moving to Stassney, and Remote Note: Working overtime maybe expected to meet tight deadlines and support functions.
Other Special Requirements (Optional): Work will be performed onsite in Austin, during normal business work hours. Candidate may be required to work evenings or weekends to meet business needs and deadlines. At TxDOT's option, the candidate may be permitted or required to telework.
