Global Dimensions is seeking a Toolroom Attendant for a position located in Barstow, CA.

The Tool Room Attendant maintains the daily operation of the tool room and related components to include, but not limited to the following: Orders, receives, issues and turn-in of unserviceable tools. Responsible for change of custody and quarterly tool room inventories. Submit through calibration, special and calibrated tools as scheduled, to maintain a within use tolerance status. Orders through the supply system and maintains shop supplies / materials for daily operations. Issues, receives, orders, turns in of unserviceable tools, stores maintain tools and tool room per DA PAM 710-2. Performs cyclic inventories of tools and equipment issued from the tool room and shop operations. Performs toolbox inventories as required for issuing and turn-in for employees. Submits items as directed to calibration and returns them to the tool room as completed. Orders shop supplies through the supervisor (rags, paper towels, soap, etc.). Performs clean-up duties and polices the shop areas to include Hazmat containment area custodian with all that entails. Responsible for inspection of tools and inspects Jacks and Jack stands with stenciling and logs, Flammable cabinets, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers and parts cleaner. Performs additional tasks assigned. Supports/ participates in the KBR Zero Harm culture, absolutes and safety guidelines, Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA program. Mentors and assists with on-the-job training and cross-training. Participates in training and cross-training sessions as required and necessary. Complies with all Company rules, policies and procedures.

Complies with all safety, environmental and quality standards and applicable COPs and DOPs. Provides for the accountability and proper care of all GFE/ CFE. Favorably interacts with internal/external customers. Conducts daily inventory of assigned tools & equipment. Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the project. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Field of Expertise: Issuing, receiving and storing tools
  • Must be knowledgeable in computer and other office equipment usage
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment (up to 10K forklifts)
  • Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
  • Writes performance evaluation comments and reports when places in a control/ assignment directive role
  • Work under stressful circumstances and meets shorts suspense dates
  • Must have one (1) year verifiable experience in military or civilian maintenance operation where tools are utilized, inventoried and identified. Excludes Supply/Warehouse experience.
  • Relevant experience must include at least six (6) months experience in their current position except when promoting to a higher rated position
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to team lift up to 10 pounds in a two-person carry
  • Use crowbars, brooms, mops, sledgehammers and related items
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, crawl and climb as necessary to perform job functions using proper techniques and PPE for extended periods
  • Must be free of medical restriction/ limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/ or prevent the wearing and utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain and blowing sand and dust
  • Employees shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description
  • May be required to work on uncommon hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must possess a valid state drivers license and be able to obtain a military operators permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate
