Job Duties

• Drive and operate a range of heavy-duty vehicles, such as straight-body trucks above 4500 kg, long combination vehicles, and tractor-trailers, to move goods over long distances.
• Organizing the details of the journey and obtaining the paperwork required to ship products.
• Inspecting the vehicle's systems, hardware, and accessories—such as the tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage—before, during, and after the trip.
• Acquiring the necessary licenses and paperwork for the shipment of goods internationally.
• Keeping track of fuel use, journey distance, service hours, and cargo details.
• Handling bills of lading and keeping logbooks, either digitally or by hand.
• Use onboard computers and communication equipment to communicate with dispatchers, other drivers, and consumers.
• Conducting any essential emergency roadside repairs.
• Either driving alone, in a group, or in a convoy.

Job Requirements

Driver license: Class 1
Languages: English
Education: Secondary School
Experience: 6 months to less than 1 year
