Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Transportation Sales Executive to join our team. This role primarily involves developing new business, as well as maintaining our traditional business in our Intermodal and Domestic Tank segments. The successful candidate will be responsible for our operations in the United States and Canada, with a particular emphasis on the Houston, Texas market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead sales and marketing strategies for the Domestic Tank & Intermodal Business Model, marketing services directly to shippers, NVOs, and 3PLs.
  2. Devise business strategies to increase our customer base, shipment count, and revenue while maintaining a high quality yield.
  3. Negotiate linehaul rates and assessorial charges with customers and partners.
  4. Regularly communicate with the operations team to support their needs and identify opportunities.
  5. Identify customer demand and promptly communicate it to the operations team.
  6. Collaborate with other sales professionals to drive revenue.
  7. Create customer proposals that align our services with the customer's needs.
  8. Draft and secure customer contracts.
  9. Handle payment terms and address any collections issues that may arise.
  10. Provide superior customer service and attend customer entertainment events.
  11. Submit a weekly itinerary every Friday for the following week and attend weekly sales meetings.

Requirements


  1. Proven experience in Transportation Sales, specifically in Intermodal and Domestic Tank Business.
  2. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle and resolve any collections issues.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Ability to collaborate with other sales professionals to drive revenue.
  5. Experience in identifying customer demand and communicating it effectively to the operations team.
  6. Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales and marketing strategies.
  7. A track record of securing customer contracts and drafting successful customer proposals.
  8. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to attend and host customer entertainment events.
  9. Ability to provide a weekly itinerary and attend weekly sales meetings.
  10. Willingness to travel extensively, particularly within the United States and Canada.
  11. Knowledge and understanding of the Houston, Texas market will be a significant advantage.
