Summary

Under general supervision, in a fast-paced office and warehouse environment, the Shipping Clerk will play a key role in shipping TP-Link products to customers. Daily activities include but are not limited to scheduling pick up with carriers, creating shipping documentation, running freight quotes, tracking, pulling shipment documentations (physically and electronically), research freight claims, disputing shortages with customers, and other tasks as assigned. The person will be in direct interaction with shipping carriers, truck drivers, warehouse associates, sales support and accounting. They will need to demonstrate a sense of urgency but also understands the importance of accuracy in their work methods. The ideal person will demonstrate effective communication and an ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and changes.

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, overtime is possible, subject to business needs.

Job Description:

  • Management of claims for all damaged/lost shipments, invoice overcharges, and customer chargebacks with the goal of maximizing our claims win rates.
  • Investigate each claim by gathering information, conducting website research, reviewing and analyzing reports and related bills.
  • Complete freight claim paperwork with transportation provider, paper or electronic.
  • Maintain and develop current claim reports to provide more transparent metrics to measure progress.
  • Assist with various Logistics functions: shipment processing for small parcel and LTL orders, order entry, customer inquiries, releasing, quoting, routing orders, and shipment preparation.
  • Provide customer service including responding to order and shipment-related inquiries via email, notifying retailers and management of any shipping issues, addressing shipping errors, and discrepancies.
  • Review and reconcile freight bill invoices
  • Create shipping documentation for single and consolidated orders and update warehouse management systems and excel sheets accordingly.
  • Strong Knowledge of International Shipping, mainly to Asia.
  • Complete any other duties and projects that may be assigned.
  • Occasionally assist shipping clerk with Driver Check-ins and create paperwork.

Requirements

Key Qualifications & Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors is a plus.
  • 5+ years working in a similar position, field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in email.
  • Ability to understand Shipping terms and different Ship Methods.
  • Experience with WMS, TMS system, and other carrier portals.

Preferred Skills

  • Logistics & Transportation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of freight claims and practices.
  • Knowledge of Customer portals such as Walmart, Amazon, Costco, Home Depot etc.
  • Detail Oriented with multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Previous experience as shipping clerk or related position.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in typing and grammar.
  • Fast Paced, Quick learner
  • Type 50+ WPM

Benefits

Salary: $25/hr- $30/hr DOE
