Job Purpose and Impact

The US GAAP Consultant will monitor and implement new accounting standards, maintain the company's global accounting policies, and educate finance and business personnel on these policies globally. In this role, you will provide senior management, businesses, functions, and finance teams guidance on the application of the global accounting policies to significant and unusual transactions. You will collaborate with global process owners, information technology and the controls team to design and implement processes, controls and systems that comply with accounting policies.

Key Accountabilities

Provide information, support, and advice to businesses, functions, and finance teams on technical accounting issues.

Discuss and review significant accounting issues with external auditors and inform the audit committee.

Maintain and update global accounting policies and procedures and develop and lead virtual and in person training on these policies for finance and business teams globally.

Lead special accounting projects such as impairment analyses, acquisitions, divestitures, joint venture formation and accounting.

Monitor and implement new accounting standards including evaluation, research, and communication of the financial statement impact to key finance and business leaders as well as the external auditor and design new processes and controls to comply with new standards.

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including preparation of footnotes and supporting documentation for audit support.

Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience,

Experience in technical accounting research and writing technical memos.

Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Certified public accounting license or equivalent

Minimum of five years of experience in public accounting

Experience auditing financial statements and internal control over company's accounting and reporting processes.

Experience accounting for mergers and acquisitions
