Your role: The Master Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of electronic data in SAP Next or other ERP systems as appropriate. The position is primarily focused on master data for the New Products and Operations groups. The master data specialist will process requests to compile product master data such as BOMs, recipes, product composition and purchase info records in a timely manner. The master data specialist is responsible for relaying new or updated product information to the corporate SAP Next system. The master data specialist will interface with the corporate Master Data team to ensure all required information is supplied and uploaded correctly. Additional responsibilities will involve interfacing with Merck Quality Systems such as but not limited to TrackWise and LMS.

Who you are: The Master Data Specialist should have basic knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry, sufficient for reading and understanding material requirements for production processes. The specialist should be comfortable working with computers, exhibit good math skills and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. The specialist should be detail-oriented, accurate and possess good communication and documentation skills.

Creates and enters accurate BOMs, Recipes and sourcing/purchasing information into appropriate Master Data Templates for upload to SAP Next or other ERP systems as appropriate.
Updates and maintains BOMs and recipes to keep current with system requirements.
Reviews and corrects master data as needed on a periodic basis
Education Level and Languages Required: B.S., English speaking
Professional Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Good command of Excel, some synthetic chemistry knowledge
