Unemployment Insurance Research Project Manager

Duration: 12 months

Work Hours - 8:30AM 4:30PM or 9:00AM to 5PM (must be flexible)

OT - no

Dress Code - Business Casual (50%) and Business Attire (50%)

Location - Trenton NJ

Pay rate: $40 to $44/h

Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s) Laptops

  • Computer software to be used Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

  • DUTIES:-

    • Understand the core components of relevant Unemployment Equity Grant initiatives and ensure their implementation.
    • Establish positive working relationships with NDOL Office of UI Modernization, NJDOL Office of Research and Information, the selected research partner, and other collaborators.
    • Maintain ongoing communication across offices that support collaboration and partnership-building.
    • Review and approve relevant Memorandums of Agreements (MOA) between NJDOL and the selected research partner, MOA modifications, and invoices for work performed.
    • Track budget/program expenses; draft and submit budget documents to NJDOL Office of UI Modernization.
    • Assist with research planning and implementation activities including, but not limited to: supporting focus group design and research question development, coordinating focus group logistics, overseeing interpretation arrangements, overseeing participant compensation and recruitment, supporting necessary follow up
    • Monitor, track, and document progress in accomplishing project purpose, goals, and objectives; provide required documentation of progress and outcomes internally and to the Office of UI Modernization
    • Assist with data collection and tracking for quarterly reports; draft and update quarterly reports based on data.
    • Plan, prepare and follow-up in key meetings on research project; draft and maintain meeting minutes.
    • Attend research planning meetings, research sessions, and meetings with community groups that are supporting research goals, as needed.
    • Assists with other duties, as assigned.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Graduation from an accredited college required, master's degree preferred.
    • Required: Exceptional organizational and collaboration; experience in administrative oversight or projects/program assistance; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn new applications; excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience with organizing data.
    • Preferred: Specific experience in research, project management, and/or state government contracts
